Life & style

Have you ever heard about Neat diet?!

Today, people become full, improving technology. But in vice-versa, many people are fight against in being obese. Although especially women are not fat, they want to have more and more skinny body. So Let me introduce an interesting idea to help burn calories without hard excercise.

 What is Neat diet?
It is the abbreviation of Non-Excercise Activity Thermogenesis(비운동성 활동 열 생성)

For Neat diet, how about doing this activity in our daily life???

The First, stand when you are in public transportaion

It reduces 22Kcal more than when you seats.
( seating : 36Kcal standing: 58Kcal)

The Second, use baskets when you are in the mall instead using the cart

It reduces 49Kcal more than when you use the cart.
( cart : 66Kcal basket  basket : 115Kcal)

The Third, use stairs more than using elevator

If the building has 5th floor or so, you had better to ascend stairs.
( five stairs : 247Kcal)

If we pay a little attention to our life ,  we may have beautiful body. :)

What is the Health food in winter?!

Winter already has come. Our body shrinks because of cold weather. Then why don't we   eat for our body to endure these cold days?  Let me introduce what is good for us to eat .

The First is sujeonggwa
Sujeonggwa is a Korean traditional fruit punch. Dark reddish brown in color, it is made from dried persimmonscinnamon, gingerpeppercorn and is often garnished with pine nuts (http://ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/%EC%88%98%EC%A0%95%EA%B3%BC)

This makes our body warm. This helps to protect our body from biting cold, because thi s heats our body. This tea also good for healing when we have a bad cold.

 The Second is bibimbap

Bibimbap (Korean pronunciation: [pibimbap]) is a signature Korean dish. The word literally means "mixed meal." Bibimbap is served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with namul (sautéed and seasoned vegetables) and gochujang (chili pepper paste). (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sujeonggwa)

This consists of a lot of vegetables that it helps to make up for our shortage nutrition, because people are usually careless of vegetable intake. Eating vegetable makes our immunity system more strong.

The third is oyster

The nick name of oyster is 'sea of calcium', which has two times more than milk.

When eating about five to six raw oysters you are receiving the daily recommended allowance
of iron, copper, iodine, magnesium, calcium, zinc, manganese and phosphorus, according to the GlobalGourmet website. Oysters are low in cholesterol and high in a variety of vitamins. Raw oysters include vitamins A, C, D, as well as thiamine, riboflavin and niacin. A serving of six to eight medium raw oysters contains about 69 calories and 55 mg of cholesterol.

I am surprised that how good oyster is. I don't like raw oyster, but I will try to eat this whenever I have a chance.

How about going out for enjoying winter season?

In winter, people usually don't want to go out and wander around. But too much spending time in indoor is not good for us physically and psychologically I think. So let me introduce what place is good for in this season.

  •  Sangam World Cup Park
It already opened outdoor skating rink and sled-riding ground on Dec.4. The skating rink covers a space of 1,800 square meters and the sled-riding area covers a space of 540 square meters. It is so large to enjoy skating with lots of people. If skating, it kicks out cold weather. For convenience, the two recreational facilities are surrounded by a resting area and a shelter for storing personal belongings. This park includes the big mall and theater. So If people are tired to skating, they can rest on with seeing the movie. After taking the exam, I will go.

  • The Garden of Morning calm (아침고요수목원)

If you are tired in busy life and want to take a rest in peaceful atmosphere, how about going to this place?

This garden can show the mixture of human culture and nature. Seeing just picture makes me calm. The nature has a power to purify our mind I think. In third picture, I can see the flowers bloom in winter. It proves for me a prejudice that it is desolate in winter.

This is way to go. It places near Seoul, in Gapyeong.

Soon, winter vacation has come. So it is time to go away out of daily life.

Lunar eclipse occurs on 10th Dec

lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes behind the Earth so that the Earth blocks the Sun's rays from striking the Moon. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned exactly, or very closely so, with the Earth in the middle. Hence, a lunar eclipse can only occur the night of a full moon.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_eclipse

The very phenomenon arises on Thursday. Many people crowded in the park and observatory to see this sight.  I was so excited to seeing this, because it doesn't usually happen. In the past, old people thought this red moon is the evil omen. But science has become developed then this superstition proved to be wrong. Anyway this natural phenomenon had occurred 11 years ago. and I've heard that next lunar eclipse in Korea will happen in 2018

This red moon looks dreary. I fully understand what old people thought of this red moon.

Be careful  wearing high-heels

Many women enjoy wearing high heels which is the standard of women' fashion icon. I am also woman that we had better be careful when wearing high heels especially in winter.  Because if our body heat goes down, it has more chance to have a strain women' ankle. Moreover, usual high heels are not comfortable to wear. So it can be dangerous to women' health.

“We found an increased risk of pain in the rear legs of the woman who likes to use high-heel shoes that the model looks more attractive,” said one member of the research, Alyssa B Dufour from theInstitute for Aging Research of Hebrew SeniorLife

Meanwhile, several elderly women who used the sports shoes or sneakers at a young age, proved 67 percent less risk of pain in the calves than those who frequently wear high heels.

http://www.proutamas.info/lifestyle-tips/careful-high-heels-dangerous-for-health.html

If people wore high heels to look good, they maybe sacrifice the most important thing - good health I think. Medical advice says if you wear high heels occasionally you should not cause any long term damage to your feet, however if worn excessively serious and even permanent damage can be caused.

And We should remember these types of shoes cause problems like corns, bunions, and hammer toes. They also cause you to have an unnatural body position which can cause problems with your back, hip and leg muscles.

Tom Cruise' visit Korea with ‘Mission Impossible’

2011-12-02 21:12

When Hollywood star Tom Cruise came to Korea, He got a nickname “Mr. Nice Tom” by the local media for the friendly manners.

He says, “I just want to say I love coming here and I love my nickname -- thank you,”

Cruise, 49, arrived in Seoul on Thursday as a part of his world promotional tour of the upcoming Mission Impossible film.

n the upcoming film, officially titled “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol,” Cruise stars as an Impossible Mission Force agent who goes rogue after being framed for a terrorist bombing in Moscow. The movie features the world’s tallest building -- Dubai’s 828-meter Burj Khalifa -- and Cruise showcases some epic, death-defying stunts atop the skyscraper.

I really look forward to seeing this upcoming movie, 15th December. He looks so energetic, powerful although he is forty-nine years old. I also expect thrilling actions, death-defying.

Genres:

 Action | Adventure | Thriller

Summary
above these two posters are very different. First post is for Korean and the other is for Americans. I have ever heard that design of poster is varying form each country, considering that they have different culture. I don't know exactly why these are different but poster in Korea is much thrilling than U.S. Maybe Koreans enjoy dizzying.

This scene makes audiences feel interesting. This building in Dubai is the highest in the world. This film does't use CG at all. For me, this is a spine-chilling sight, imagining this action.

National Gugak Center to perform in Paris, Berlin

2011-12-04 19:54

The National Gugak Center will perform Korea’s celebrated traditional music “Yeongsanhoesang” in Berlin and Paris on Wednesday. I've been heard that people in Paris are very favorable in other countries culture.

The featured piece is believed to have been written as a Buddhist piece during Korea’s Goryeo period (918-1392), or even before. The term “Yeongsan” in the title refers to the mountain in India where Buddha used to hold meetings with his followers.

"The music deals with missing Buddha and the gatherings he held at Yeongsan,” the institution explained.

The 50-minute piece was initially written as a vocal piece with spiritual lyrics, but the people of Joseon, who embraced Confucianism while rejecting Buddhism, removed the lyrics and created instrumental variations instead.

I am sure It sounds sad if I listened. Especially, our traditional music features our own spirit "Han"(한). "Han" is somewhat different to just sadness. Han is not just bursting tears. It is so abstract that I can't explain simply.

Meanwhile, Korean cultural centers in France and Germany have been working together to introduce the traditional side of Korean culture in Europe, and are planning a gugak session by the National Gugak Center at TFF Rudolstadt ― Germany’s biggest folk, roots and world music festival ― in July.

comment

I am proud of that Korean' traditional music becomes popular in foreign countries. It seems that they appreciate our music. Meanwhile, I also feel ashamed of myself that I am not interested in my traditional culture. The young generation should know the old things then, they can develop our culture.

This occasion can be one of the evidence that 'Korean wave' is sweeping over the world. I'm very proud of Korean. Many famous singers are helping for foreigners to know Korean culture. This effect spreads to many areas. In fact, export to France are increasing thanks to Korean wave. It contributes to Korean image to favor, goodness and premium. It is helpful to increase Korea's trade environment.

European Officials Agree to Bolster Bailout Fund

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/30/business/global/italy-and-belgium-borrowing-costs-soar.html?_r=1&scp=4&sq=Greece&st=cse

With the euro zone debt crisis worsening by the day, finance ministers from the 17 countries that use the currency approved more loans on Tuesday to stave off a Greek default and agreed to bolster their bailout fund.

Though a goal of 1 trillion euros, or $1.3 trillion, was set for the expanded bailout fund. But some people think that this will be difficult to reach.

 Then What happened in Greece?

Over the last decade, Greece went on a debt binge that came crashing to an end in late 2009, provoking an economic crisis that threatened both Europe’s recovery and the future of the euro.

Since then, Greece has relied on a package of €110 billion, or $152.6 billion, agreed to by its richer European neighbors in May 2010.

Why we should know?

   Because, it is all connected.

A chaotic Greek default have been influenced on European banks and cause a bank panic. This circumstance can make other four shaky nations-Italy, Spain, Ireland, Portugal worsen.

S. Korea's Lee signs bills to implement FTA with U.S

South Korean President Lee Myung-bak on Tuesday signed agreement on FTA with U.S.

"The free trade agreement will open the door to the American market, which is the world's largest," Lee said after signing the bills. "Let's overcome (economic difficulties) by taking advantage of the agreement."

Policy think tanks here say the bilateral deal will create 350, 000 new jobs and increase South Korea's gross domestic product ( GDP) by 5.66 percent, but critics dispute the estimate.
Claiming the deal only favors Washington's interests and will be a blow to the agricultural industry and small business owners, liberal.

In these days, doing FTA with U.S has been hot potato in Korea. Many pros and cons are in confrontation with each other. This issue is very complex, because it gets tangled with politically and economically.

Choi Hyo-jong is sued

Comedian Choi hyo-jong is sued for making fun of politicians.  He is 26 years old and is very popular comedian in Korea. His show airs on Sunday night which is the program many people enjoy seeing. One recent comedy segment, Choi pretended to tell children guaranteed ways to become a politician [note: the show is not actually for children].

When you make campaign promises, say you will build a bridge or a subway station. Oh, you think that is too hard? No worries, you just need to say that without actually doing it.
If you tenaciously go on about others' weaknesses like a dog, you can become a politician.

I usually see this program, laughing so much. My father and mother also likes to see this program. Comedy makes our life more serious with pretending foolish. So I like comedy which includes more behind meaning of people' life.

The plaintiff's position
The lawsuit - claiming that the performer defamed all politicians - has drawn immediate criticism from various parts of Korean society, inundating social media with jokes and comments.

But Choi's supporters are also formidable. I wish I keep watching that his way joke in TV

What's news?!

News is information about a recently changed situation or a recent event.(Naver dictionary)

Why we should know news?

Today, we can have been heard the world 'global' easily. This means that people can't live alone. In a large interpretation, one country is not able to live without other countries. The relationship among countries are more complex than ever. Especially, In Korea, trade is very important. Our country depends on trade so much that people in Korea should pay attention to not only our news of country but also other foreign country.
